Sweetdove in the Wind: Here With Us

She arises with the morning's brilliance.

Stillness and peace are her attendants.

Her steps are established by His counsel,

Directed by purposeful prayer and purity of intentions.

A purple shaw embraces her shoulders.

A preference for royalty fills her dreams,

As she seeks to serve the King and Kingdom.

She speaks the truth,

And the Lord's eyes watch over her ways.

The King is her protector, friend and counsel.

Those who love her enjoy the bounty of her labors.

They find peace in the gentleness of her tongue,

And take pleasure in her laughter.

Her desires are praiseworthy,

And her pursuits have the King's defense.

She sees the afflictions of the wounded,

And lends her arms to their comfort.

Her mercy mends,

And the needy find rest in her doorway.

A woman of substance,

A woman of chosen submission,

To a purpose both known, yet vastly mysterious.

She will be praised,

For her fear is in His hands.

She walks a path

That grows more familiar than her own features.

Her face shines as a mirrored reflection

From the King's loving gaze.

But most of all,

A King's daughter looks like

The King.

Here With Us

"Here With Us" by Joy Williams

This is my new favorite Christmas Song. I tear up when I hear it and today, as I watched the video below, I could not keep myself from crying. Emmanuel means "God with us". God came to be with us humans...when we look at Jesus, we are seeing God- His character and love. That very love moved Him to come to be with us, to be a human like us. This song is just so beautiful:)

One autumn day, Rod and I went to a chocolate factory together. My hubby noticed me eyeing a basket of yummy chocolate leaves wrapped in a kaleidoscope of warm autumn colors. I wanted to purchase them, but we were short on cash. Well, somehow my dear husband bought them for me, without me knowing it, and surprised me.

One day, I came out of the bathroom to find a trail of the chocolate leaves leading me through the house. Now that was lovely, but it gets even better! My wonderful husband had put his time and thoughts into placing these chocolate leaves throughout the house! He hid them all over the place. As the days and weeks went by I would find a leaf in the mailbox, or between the dirty laundry, or in the silverware drawer, etc, etc....it was WONDERFUL! Every time I found a leaf, it made me smile, and reminded me that I was loved. It was a romantic gesture that continued to woo me as I went about my chores.
